The International Code Council (ICC) is a member association which publishes the International-Codes, or I-Codes. The I-CodesĀ are a complete set of comprehensive, coordinated building safety and fire prevention codes.
The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) is a model energy building code produced by the ICC. It is developed, and revised on a periodic basis, through a public hearing process by national experts under the direction of the ICC. It addresses energy efficiency on several fronts including cost savings, reduced energy usage, conservation of natural resources and the impact of energy usage on the environment.
The International Green Construction Code (IgCC), also produced by the ICC, provides model code language to establish baseline regulations for new and existing buildings related to energy conservation, water efficiency, building owner responsibilities, site impacts, building waste, materials, and other considerations.
