Global and Local Effect of Increasing Land Surface Albedo as a Geo-Engineering Adaptation/Mitigation Option: A Study Case of Mediterranean Greenhouse Farming

Study of the Almeria region of southern Spain, where the surface reflectivity is much higher than surrounding areas due to a tradition of whitewashing greenhouse roofs.  The region has experienced an anomalous cooling trend compared to surrounding regions with lower reflectivity of 0.3 degrees Celsius per decade compared to an increase of 0.4 degrees Celsius in the areas around it.
