A Focus on Volunteering: White Roofs Project

The White Roofs Project is a New York City-based non-profit that organizes volunteers to coat roofs white to reduce energy use and combat climate change. The White Roofs Project has recently developed materials to seed new volunteer groups in other cities. Volunteer programs can support other efforts to speed adoption of cool surfaces by raising public awareness and delivering benefits to buildings that may not be prioritized by the private sector. This Focus highlights the work of the White Roofs Project and provides links to learning more.
